METRO Group and CCFA reached cooperation agreement . METRO Group will attend the 8th China Chain Store Expo in Beijing in November.As a driving force of technological innovation in the world of commerce, the METRO Group Future Store Initiative lends impetus to the technological changes which are taking place in this sector of industry. Together with Intel, IBM, T-Systems and more than 60 other cooperating partners from the IT and consumer goods industries and the service sector the METRO Group is developing feasible concepts for the trade of tomorrow and cooperating partners test newly developed applications for warehouse management and for the sales floor under real conditions.
All of the parties involved are united by a single vision: the setting of new technological standards for the consumer goods industry and the speeding up of the modernization process in commerce. The METRO Group Future Store Initiative is the joint platform for this objective.
The initiative¨s pioneering workshop is the Future Store in Rheinberg near Duesseldorf/Germany. The use of new technologies does not only offer retailers new opportunities to optimize business processes, but also advantages for the customers. In the Future Store, retailers are able to provide customers with a far better service than is customary today. Technical devices such as self check-outs without a cashier make shopping faster and easier. The technologies open up new possibilities to approach the customers: The entire customer communication in the store is newly oriented in the Future Store: Information Terminals, electronic price labels and advertising displays provide product information and offer advice when choosing goods.
The focus here is on benefit to the consumer. Whether customer, employee or specialist visitor: in the Future Store they can today already experience the future of retail.
